Yes, the Mixed-Signal Probe can be used even if the trace hardware is not used for flow or system trace.
The exact requirements differ depending on the used trace hardware:
For a µTrace®, connect your Mixed-Signal Probe to port B and connect your MIPI20T-HS or MIPI34 whisker to port A.
For a CombiProbe 2, it is sufficient to connect the Mixed-Signal Probe to port B of the CombiProbe 2. Port A can be left unconnected or connected to a regular debug whisker.
For the PowerTrace III, a supported combination of Preprocessor + Debug Cable (if not Nexus Preprocessor) + TRACE32 PowerView GUI must be used, i. e. a setup that would in principle support tracing if the target did have a trace port.
For the PowerTrace Serial 2, a supported combination of Debug Cable + TRACE32 PowerView GUI is required.
In all cases, half of the trace hadware’s memory is available for signal trace. It is not possible to use the memory that would usually be used for flow or system trace as additional signal trace memory.
